I arrived safely back in Des Moines on Tuesday, June 2nd, at 6:20 pm. I have mixed feelings about being back, part of me didn't want to leave England and the other part of me couldn't wait to see my children and husband again. What threw my through a loop was the anger and rejection I would face from Effy. He pretty much ignored me for the first 5 minutes and then didn't want to let me go. By the time we came home they were both in tears fighting over everything and I was going on almost 24 hours of no sleep, the evening did not end like I had hoped. Not to mention my husband had come down with a major fever followed by shakes for the next 2 days. NOT FUN or welcoming.... but things are starting to go back to normal at this point.
I have to say that it's hard to capture 10 days of England and write it all here.. But I will do it, I promise and follow it up with pictures.. for now just take a look at this lovely photo taken in York overlooking the York Minster and the walls of York.
