I don't always listen to the radio, however last week I was driving home from a my CPR class and tuned into Delilah, I happen to like the sappy happy callers with their life stories, it always helps me feel appreciative of what I have. This particular night I was pleased to hear a daughter who had called in about a tradition her and her mother kept every year. They baked cookies, thousands of them! Then they would hand them out to people in need, at hospitals, offices, clinics, anywhere they were called to go, they went!
It got me thinking about how much Caitlyn enjoys cooking with me. Every time I enter the kitchen and she hears me clanging around she asks "mama, whacha cookin?" She is always ready to pull a chair up to help me out in. Honestly, I enjoy that time with her too! Sure, Caity can't help me with all of it, like stirring the HOT saucepan, to which I hate saying "no" to. This also got me thinking of mother daughter time... and how it's good to create those bonds that will last a lifetime... considering my lack of bonding I'd really like to encourage other mothers reading this to start something with your daughters. Find something you enjoy doing and take the time to teach it to her.
here we are making cookies!Caitlyn likes so many of the same things I do: Caity- cutting paper, Me- cutting fabric. Caity- painting on paper, Me- painting on walls. Caity- sorting and folding laundry, Me- letting her do that for me!

Elaine,
You know my two girls would fight over this, so I'd have to get another! Actually, I bet my boys would each like one too!

My 8-year-old daughter is begging me to teach her to cook, and all my aprons are too big for her! She's a good sport, but really wants a kid-sized one. She made the yummiest turtle candies today, all by herself! It's so neat to cook with her, and I look forward to many years of it. Thanks for the chance to win!
I subscribed! I have no idea yet what Twitter is, so that wasn't an option. :-) Thanks again!
I teach kindergarten. It would be great in my home living center!
